Nikki Jem aka LVT has been a feature of Vancouver's underground scene for more than 10 years, contributing both performances and events. After first performing a live set of her own music in 2013 she decided to dive headfirst into the realm of musical performance as a DJ. She's honed in on her sound through countless sets played at Vancouver's best underground venues, as well as festivals such as Bass Coast, Electric Love and her own boutique festival, Aqua Lucidity, which garnered high praise during its 3 year run.
LVT is a versatile DJ, never pegged by a singular sound. She has an expansive collection spanning many genres, but a specific depth and storytelling is present in all of LVTs sets. She has an inherent ability to transport her listeners into a deeper state of mind through euphoric, emotional and unpredictable music. She's done handfuls of well received mixes from ambient to techno on world-class podcasts such as Deep Breakfast, Monument and more recently Delayed and Precept.
In 2021 she joined DOLLY as a curator and event planner, organizing programming and booking talent at what would become one of Vancouver's favourite afterhours venues. She's been an integral part of building her local scene; supporting the local, national and international DJing landscape with a polished sensibility drawn from her years of experience and lifetime of interest in the underground.
We're grateful to collaborate and produce on the shared, stolen, unceded, ancestral and traditional territories of Penelakut, Lamalcha, Hwitslum and other Hul’qumi’num speaking peoples, as well as the ceded territories of Tsawwassen First Nation, on what is now known as Galiano Island, British Columbia. We recognize the complex impacts that hosting settlers and non-settlers has on the Indigenous land and peoples of this area, and we aim to be responsible and accountable for these impacts and our footprint—whether cultural, environmental or social.
We acknowledge the generous support of our partners and funders:
