Theia is a trailblazing award-winning Māori artist from Aotearoa (NZ), known for her fearless anthems and captivating live shows. A fierce advocate for Indigenous rights, Theia uses her music as a vehicle to advocate for change. Her debut album GIRL, IN A SAVAGE WORLD is a glorious fusion of ethereal folk, Indigenous soul, and art rock influences. The album received critical acclaim on its release in late 2025, with Rolling Stone Australia listing it as #3 in their Top 50 NZ Albums Of The Year. Respected New Zealand music critic Graham Reid described the record as “exceptional” and likened it to the works of Kate Bush and Laurie Anderson.
Theia has toured extensively across Australasia and North America. After witnessing a performance at Block Heater 2025 in Calgary, Dr Candace Manitopyes from Relentless Indigenous Women said: “Theia’s live show is a moment of kinship across oceans, a palpable spiritual recognition that transcends borders.” NZ blog Write Said Paul says:“[Theia] is a disruptor, a force of nature carving her own path through the music landscape.
