Xicada creates immersive electronic compositions inspired by sacred forces. Through spectral vocals, unstable rhythms, and warped textures, she builds liminal sonic worlds that feel like an imagined alien folk tradition—rooted in ritual, rupture, and the surreal.
Her work functions as both prayer and magical act, offering sonic rituals in response to an increasingly abstract, digital world. Blending elemental energy, whispered mantras, and otherworldly frequencies, she evokes a witchy, earth-bound futurism suspended in a dimensional rift.
Part of Canada’s experimental underground, Xicada has shared the stage with Dreamcrusher, Hesaitix, Pessimist, Spike Hellis, Dis Fig, Black Ox Orkestar, and Jessica Moss. Her work has been released on Halocline Trance, Foxy Digitalis, and Borscht Records. She is the co-founder of Borscht, a label and internet radio station, and an active member of Degeneral Strike, a non-profit collective dedicated to experimental sound and community-based music. In 2025, she performed at MUTEK, Pique, and Project Nowhere, and brought her live show internationally through a series of performances in Taiwan. Her forthcoming album will be released in September 2026 through Italian label Paimonia Club.
