Juno award winning drummer, improviser and composer Dan Gaucher has been an active and integral member of the Vancouver and Toronto creative music scenes for over 20 years. As well as an Undergraduate Degree in Music from Capilano College, Dan holds a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Toronto.
Performing across North America and Europe in a variety of styles including avant rock (Fond of Tigers), modern jazz (Francois Houle, The October Trio + Brad Turner), indie rock (Destroyer, Sandro Perri, Dan Mangan, Snowblink, Woodpigeon), and avant-garde jazz (Sick Boss, How To Do Nothing), Dan also leads his own projects (Stop Time, Hovering Earth, Strange Worlds, Filthy Rich, Dan Gaucher Trio).
Dan has been a creative contributor on over 50 recordings including Sandro Perri’s Impossible Spaces (2011), Woodpigeon’s TROUBLE (2016), Snowblink’s Returning Current (2017) and Fond of Tigers Juno Award winning Continent & Western (2011). He's also been invited to perform with internationally recognized talents such as Dave Douglas, Brad Turner, Mats Gustafsson, Jesse Zubot, Tanya Tagak, and Ingrid Jensen.
