Michael Red is a Vancouver based music producer, composer, curator, performer and DJ with several decades worth of experience. Founder and lead for Low Indigo (leftfield music label & events), ambient/experimental artist under the name Souns, one half of La Fe with Daniel Rincon (ISLA), one half of Oro Azul with Ultima Esuna (releasing their debut EP on Mood Hut later this year), former collaborator and touring artist with throat singer Tanya Tagaq for over ten years, former curator for New Forms Festival for over ten years, Bass Coast Music Festival resident, the founding member of Lighta! Sound, and collaborator with a long list of other notable artists. Michael is recognized as playing a critical role in shaping foundational sound system and underground electronic music culture in Western Canada, as both an event creator and DJ.
We're grateful to collaborate and produce on the shared, stolen, unceded, ancestral and traditional territories of Penelakut, Lamalcha, Hwitslum and other Hul’qumi’num speaking peoples, as well as the ceded territories of Tsawwassen First Nation, on what is now known as Galiano Island, British Columbia.
