Deep meditative soundscapes and atmospheres and movement... inspired by dub, nature and non-physical life... with an element of language restoration.

Tsimka, vocals, drum

Michael Red, live electronics, sound objects

Tsimka Martin, rooted in nuučaan̓uł territories, morphs millennia-old oral and drumming traditions into contemporary sonic vibrations. Inspired by the dualities of the ancient and the modern, Indigenous and settler identities, ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ and English languages, Tsimka playfully reinterprets spiritual wisdom, natural elements, and cultural stories to remind listeners of the rhythms alive in us all – breath, heart, and joy.

Michael Red is a Vancouver based music producer, composer, curator, performer and DJ with several decades worth of experience. Founder and lead for Low Indigo (leftfield music label & events), ambient/experimental artist under the name Souns, one half of La Fe with Daniel Rincon (ISLA), one half of Oro Azul with Ultima Esuna (releasing their debut EP on Mood Hut later this year), former collaborator and touring artist with throat singer Tanya Tagaq for over ten years, former curator for New Forms Festival for over ten years, Bass Coast Music Festival resident, the founding member of Lighta! Sound, and collaborator with a long list of other notable artists. Michael is recognized as playing a critical role in shaping foundational sound system and underground electronic music culture in Western Canada, as both an event creator and DJ.

We're grateful to collaborate and produce on the shared, stolen, unceded, ancestral and traditional territories of Penelakut, Lamalcha, Hwitslum and other Hul’qumi’num speaking peoples, as well as the ceded territories of Tsawwassen First Nation, on what is now known as Galiano Island, British Columbia. We recognize the complex impacts that hosting settlers and non-settlers has on the Indigenous land and peoples of this area, and we aim to be responsible and accountable for these impacts and our footprint—whether cultural, environmental or social.

We acknowledge the generous support of our partners and funders:
